Despite our rural location, The Harp Inn is accessible by public transport – there is a 0.5 mile walk up hill from the bus stop, but trust us it is worth it!

Nearest Train Stations to the Harp Inn

Hereford Train Station: If you are travelling from London, or other destination in the south of England. Hereford is usually the most convenient.

From Hereford station, you can take the 461 bus directly from Hereford station to Walton bus stop. From there it is just a short walk up hill to the Harp Inn.

The Heart of Wales train line runs from Swansea to Shrewsbury and onwards to Manchester and North Wales. The nearest stations to Old Radnor are Llandrindod Wells (27 minute drive), Pen-y-bont (20 minute drive), Knighton (18 minute drive) and Craven Arms (42 minute drive).

Llandrindod Wells, Pen-y-bont and Walton are connected via the 461 bus route.

Both Knighton and Craven Arms are accessible by bus, but you will need to use the 461 to connect to the X48 bus route.

We are located within a rural community, so if you plan to rely on a taxi service, please plan ahead and book in advance.



The Offa’s Dyke path and the Harp Inn

We are located a short distance from the Offa’s Dyke path, on the section between Kington and Hay-on-Wye.

On the southbound route, depart Kington and head up onto Hergest Ridge. As you pass the monkey puzzle trees, take the path to your right which will take you between Hanter Hill and Worsell Wood. Follow Hunter Lane into Burlingjobb and up to Old Radnor.

The route to Old Radnor from Kington via Hergest Ridge takes approximately 90 minutes.

On the Northbound route, pass through Gladestry and up onto Hergest Ridge. Before reaching the monkey puzzle trees, you take the path on your left

The route to Old Radnor from Gladestry via Hergest Ridge takes approximately 2 hours.
